What You Should Do And Don’t During Malaria?

During monsoon, the risk of malaria gets higher. But prevention and a healthy diet can help to minimize the effects of malaria on our immune system. Malaria mainly affects your immune system. If you have malaria symptoms, your doctor will ask for a malaria parasite test. A doctor may prescribe many antibiotics which can help to deal with malaria but you may experience its different symptoms, like vomiting, headache, etc.

Many people also experience chills with a high grade of fever. It happens when the mosquitoes transmit the disease parasites from the affected individual to another. You should stay indoors and always wear full sleeves and cover the areas of the body as much as you can to prevent getting infected.

But if you have malaria, you can deal with this disease by eating a healthy diet and avoiding such foods that can promote it. Basically, the diet you need is what can enhance your immune system. You must know that foods can help boost your immune system.

Such a diet does not cause harm to other organs of your body, like the liver, kidney, and other internal organs.

During malaria, you should also avoid high-intensity workouts as your body needs rest and a proper diet plan to live a healthy life. But eating too many meal portions at a time can cause harm to your health.

Consume healthy diet

Malaria fever increases the requirement for essential nutrients in your body. You should eat foods that provide the minerals and vitamins. Even your body demands calorie intake on the rise of the temperature. Foods high in carbohydrates are also good for your health if you have malaria. You can eat wheat and millets to enhance your immune system.

You must eat a diet that contains vitamin A and vitamin C which will help to stay healthy. These foods include grapes, sweet lime, carrot, beetroot, lemon, orange, etc. These veggies and fruits can help to boost the immune system. Because it is crucial to strengthen your immune system.

Drink more fluids

If you have a fever, you may lose your appetite or experience taste changes. It makes you feel like you do not need to eat or drink any type of food. But you cannot live in this way. You can add some healthy fluids into your daily routines, such as coconut water, glucose water, salt or sugar water, or you can drink some fresh made fruits juices, etc.

But you should avoid tap water. Make sure that you only drink mineral water or sterilized water. You can also drink soup or bone broth. If you have some other ways to get more fluids in your mind, do it. Because your body needs plenty of food to stay hydrated. It flushes out all the toxins and waste material through urine and also reduces the risk of dehydration.

Consume high protein

Losing a lot of tissues means that you should get more protein. Make sure that you choose a diet that is high in carbohydrates and protein. Buttermilk or curd is beneficial to boost your immune system.

Living with a high temperature for days can make you weak and increase the risk of fatigue. To synthesize the immune body, you should eat foods that are rich in protein and also fight the parasites.

The best way to get the protein from the foods is to eat eggs, chicken soup, fish stews, etc.

Try to eat moderate fat

Your body requires fats to function properly. But doctors also suggest eating moderate fat such as butter, milk fats products, and cream. Eating fats rich in omega-3 fats can help to reduce inflammation. You can consume foods, like chia seeds, flax seeds, etc. which are anti-inflammatory in nature and keep you healthy by enhancing your immune system.

But you should avoid the foods which are fried. For example, if you like fries, avoid them if you have malaria.

What You Should Avoid

You should eat foods that are well-balanced in minerals and vitamins. Excessive fiber intake can also cause some effects on your overall health

For example, if you start eating fiber-rich foods in every meal, it may lead to diarrhea.

You also need to avoid foods that can cause stomach problems or acidity in the stomach, such as spicy foods or food which is high in sauces.

There are other foods too that you should avoid, such as cola, coffee, tea, and beverages that are high caffeinated.

Final Thought

Your body needs to work on vitamin loss. You should wear full sleeves to prevent the malaria risk. So make sure that you drink electrolytes. The above-mentioned foods can help to get all the essential nutrients. If you experience worsening the symptoms, get medical help as soon as possible.
