Today’s Rose City pharmacy looks like a pharmacy, but with a new drug delivery system. With a computer system that can send prescriptions to your door, and a little robot who can fill your prescriptions and also make their own candy, I can see the future of drug delivery being a little bit closer to my doorstep.
You know when you go to your pharmacy to pick up your prescription and it starts taking forever because you only get five minutes? Well, I think that sounds like a good opportunity to get in on the action. I’m not sure if that is a good thing though, especially if you have to go in the middle of the day, but I suppose it’s better than nothing.
I’m not sure if there is an official plan to introduce this feature into Rose City, but I heard it was coming and I’m pretty sure I read about it on the internet back in 2005.
So, yes, there is an official plan. The idea is to make the pharmacy a time stop, but the time-stop is only open for five minutes. The five minutes are only open to those who can come in early and get their prescriptions in and get them refilled. And since the pharmacist is never allowed to see the prescription, the only way for anyone to get their prescription refilled is to go to the pharmacy’s front door and pay cash.
