Well, there’s some good news, as this is actually a relatively new field, so there’s a lot of information out there about pharmacy informatics, but in general, it’s not very common.
This is why the field of pharmacy informatics is called “pharmacy informatics”. Because information and information systems are being used to manage drugs, and that information is being used to help make good decisions. So, I think it is a very interesting area. The field is still in its infancy, and there are still a lot of unknowns in it, but I’m very interested in it.
I’m currently reading a lot about pharmacy informatics, so I’m going to talk about some of my own findings on that front. The first thing I found out about this field is that I didn’t actually know much about it before I started reading. Because of this, it’s a bit of a surprise to see that I’m not alone in my findings. Like many other fields, pharmacy informatics is still a bit of an unknown.
Pharmacists are the people that check patient prescriptions, the people that go to hospitals to dispense drugs, and the people that check the labels of medications. Each of these roles requires different skill sets and training, which is why there are so many pharmacy informatics experts.
Pharmacy informatics is the process of managing the information necessary to make sure that a specific drug or drug combination is used at the correct dosage for a particular patient. It does this by storing that information in databases or in “apps” that give the pharmacist access to this information. In general, the information in these apps is “structured data” which is data that has been organized in a way that has meaning.
Pharmaceuticals are often data-driven, meaning that they make decisions based on this data. For instance, a pharmacy might decide that a particular drug is safe to be used on an infant and instead of prescribing the drug to an infant, it would be safer for them to prescribe it to a child. Or, a pharmacy might decide to prescribe a particular drug to a particular patient based on the data that it had stored about that patient.
By collecting and storing this data, a pharmacy has a way of making decisions about how to treat patients. One of the things that I like about pharmacy informatics is that it makes decisions that are based on the truth, not the best-looking data. While it’s true that this data is likely not the best in terms of accuracy, it is far from being the worst. In fact, it’s likely the best data possible.
