The Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy is the only state board of pharmacy in America that sets standards for all pharmacists. This means they are held to a higher standard than the rest of the nation.
One of the big reasons for this is the high standards set for pharmacists. As a pharmacist, your job is to make sure your patients get a quality product and be able to trust your product. You can’t just give a bad product because it’s the best one in the world.
This was one of the things that worried me the most when I first heard about the board. It seems like it is very much out of step with the rest of the nation. For one, it seems that no matter how many times a pharmacist does something wrong, they get absolved of their wrongdoing. I see this play out all the time in my local pharmacy. In one instance a pharmacist gave me a bad product that they could have easily dealt with had they been more vigilant.
